Self Portrait
I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago in a neighborhood called West Pullman. This is a grab-bag collection of stories and recollections from that experience.

West Pullman  The neighborhood on the South Side where I was raised in the 1950s and 1960s.

Train Tracks  Our house on 125th Place was next to the Pennsylvania Railroad which divided the West Pullman area at the time. The tracks have since been removed and turned into a hiking / biking trail.

Curtis High School  Recollections from my first year of high school at Curtis, then a freshman-only feeder school for Fenger.

Fenger High  Recollections from my time at Fenger High.

John Travolta didn't go to Fenger High...   A humorous look back at how Fenger in the late 1960s was strikingly similar to the movie "Grease".

Don't Get Mad, Get Even  A Chicago-style civics lesson I didn't learn in high school.
