5) Use lines, patterns, and tonality to guide the viewer around the frame:

Any straight or curved lines in the photograph should lead towards the center of interest, not away from it. How the center of interest is located relative these "leading"lines can change the mood or message of a photo.

Tonality, the relative range of brightness of objects in the frame, can also be used to guide the viewer's eye around the frame. After being drawn to the brightest object in the frame (hopefully your center of interest) the viewer's eye will wander to the next brightest item, then the next, then the next, etc...
