3. Crop the photo:

Because the typical digital camera image is 10-15% larger than what appears in the viewfinder, some cropping of digital photos is usually needed.

Review the guideline for good composition in Part One for tips on cropping. The cropping tool in PhotoShop is in the top left corner of the tool bar. This tool bar box is also used for the rectangular and oval selection tools. If the cropping tool is not selected click-drag on the box until it appears.

Click the mouse on the upper left corner of where you want the image cropped and drag (holding the mouse button down) across to the lower right corner.




Don't worry if cropping is not exact the first time. You can adjust cropping by clicking and dragging one of the small boxes in the corners or the sides. Once you get the cropping the way you want it press the "Enter" key.
