5. Remove defects with the cloning tool:

The cloning tool, also known as the rubber stamp, is one of the most useful and fun tools in PhotoShop. After selecting it and the brush size, the option key is held down and the area to be copied is clicked.

The option key is then released and the cursor moved to the area where the area should be copied to. In this example I wanted to remove the person and blue rope visible in the the lower left corner, so I selected an area of the rock, then painted it over the people. The area the rubber stamp tool copies moves relative to the cursor, something which takes some practice to master. I find the best technique is to copy a small area, then use the option key to select a new one.
